Industry Standards Introduction of Basin Faucets and Kitchen Faucets

Introduction of Faucet Industry Standards

Faucets are mainly divided into American faucets, European faucets and British faucets according to the market.(Including Basin Faucets, Kitchen Faucets and Bath Mixer).

The main difference between the three standards faucets:
1. Water saving function

American faucet takes into account the water-saving function, mainly limit the flow by the aerator or restrictor;

2. Operation pressure
United States: 1.4-8.6bar (American style faucet)
Europe: TypeⅠ: 1-5bar (European style faucet); Type Ⅱ: 0.1-2bar (British faucet).

Notice:

When the faucet is incorrectly used in the water supply system, it will cause some terrible situation.

Water supply system Ⅰ: British faucet will increase the operating force; British faucet will increase the operating force of diverter; British faucet will increase the flow rate; noise may be generated;

Water supply system Ⅱ: make the automatic water divider unable to hang; may produce unacceptable flow.

Principles of Selection of Standards:

If requested by the customers, follow the requirement. If there are no special requirements, the design needs to consider:

1. U.S.-Canada Market: ASME 112.18.1/CSA125.1 is selected in the U.S. and Canada market;

2. British market: Single Handle mechanical mixing faucet adopts BS EN 1286; The vertical bolt and double-handle mixing faucet adopt BS5412;

3. European market: It is necessary to know the water supply system used by customers. For low-pressure systems, use: EN 200 and EN 1286; for classⅠwater supply systems, use EN 200 and EN 817.
